Abstract:
When it comes to sex and romance, what is “human enough”? Modern robotics has created robots who can dance, converse, and sense tactile differences, and as the technology advances, more people are turning to these products for romance and sexual relationships. Various lines of sex robots are on the market, and with each new iteration, they come closer to looking, and acting, human. This talk will take you on a journey of discovery examining notions of sex robots in science fiction and in reality, QV and exploring the concept and practicalities of digisexuality, as we ponder what makes us human, and how close we can get to it in our technological lives.
