Update: Due to COVID-19 concerns, we regret we must cancel SINSA 2020. We plan to launch a SINSA 2021 edition. We’ll keep you informed of SINSA 2021 plans as they emerge through our newsletter, which you can sign up for here.
If you have already registered, we will be in touch with you as soon as possible to confirm refund information. Please contact us at contact.sinsa@gmail.com if you have any questions.
The IU Network Science Institute (IUNI) is partnering with the Network Science Institute at Northeastern University (NetSI) to offer an exciting new summer training program in network science, SINSA2020.
The first edition will be held in Boston (plans are to rotate locations in the future) from June 22 to July 3 and will feature an exciting slate of courses on methods and applications. Each intensive course will last two and a half days and an individual student can take up to four courses in the two-week period.
Registration for this two-week school is offered on a per-course basis of $500 per course for the first two courses, while the third and fourth courses will be discounted to $300 each. Full registration for four courses is $1,600. The program will offer lunch on course days and weekend and evening activities and lectures.
IUNI would like to support IU students (any campus) who are interested in attending this training opportunity by providing total or partial fee remissions.
We invite graduate students with an interest in the field to apply. We will accept applications from students already involved in studying network science and those interested in exploring their options. The number of awards we are able to grant depends on the amount of fee remission involved per recipient. At this time we have no funds to support travel and lodging.
How to apply
If you are interested in applying to this opportunity, you may use this this Google form. The deadline for applications is March 1, and we will announce recipients by March 9. You will be asked:
- Your name and IU email
- IU Campus
- Major Department
- Faculty Advisor Name
- Degree sought (MA, MS, PhD, ED, etc.) and anticipated graduation year
