As instructional videos become ever more popular there comes a stronger push for those of us who have hesitated to do so. It’s not that many weren’t interested but that the technology and process seemed overwhelming. Which camera do I use? Which microphone has the best quality? Will it look good? What software can I edit with? How do I even edit?! Hurdles such as these have kept many from making the attempt.
Luckily for system-wide IU faculty, there exists a film space which features high-definition cameras on 360-degree swivel mounts, wireless lapel microphones, a smart podium, and a blue/green screen to offer plenty of freedom and flexibility for what you want to create. Extra intimidating? It shouldn’t be because this space comes staffed with someone who will have the room ready for recording when you arrive, run the cameras and man the microphones for you, and make sure everything goes smoothly.
So what does this mean for you? It means walking in, presentation in hand, and not having to worry about the technology or how the video will look when it’s finished or even how it will become a finished product. This is because the staff will edit the video together giving it a polished look before handing it back to you a few days later.
Don’t believe me? Sound too good to be true? Or perhaps you’re thinking this is right up your alley? Just contact us. We would be happy to show you the space! You can find more information here.
