The BHIRC is becoming recognized as a potential contributor to the startup community in Indianapolis. 16Tech is creating its own Maker Space to provide prototyping capabilities to inventors and companies who are engineering new products in healthcare, manufacturing and other industries. BHIRC coordinated a meeting with Bob Coy from 16 Tech and Professor Lou Lenzi from the School of Informatics and Computing. Professor Lenzi teaches courses in the Internet of Things and was instrumental in establishing a Maker Space for General Electric. As a result, the BHIRC has been asked to participate in getting the new space established and potentially providing the administrative function for those who will bring their creative ideas to life.
