If you’re like me, you may have noticed that your energy and focus are not quite what they used to be. The COVID-19 pandemic is challenging us in ways we could never have predicted. These challenges have sparked rapid changes in the way we live, especially professionally and socially, with many companies offering WFH options and social gatherings seemingly becoming a thing of the past. However, it is important to remind yourself that although these are unprecedented times, they will not last forever and that keeping a positive mindset and practicing self-care could be major determinants of whether you emerge from this pandemic better or worse than you came into it.
Keeping a positive mindset could be as simple as being optimistic in negative situations, and practicing self-care could be as simple as brushing your teeth every evening. Everyone has their own definition of each, which is why it’s important to ask yourself, “What do I need at this moment in time to feel better?” It could be a cup of tea, going on a run, or a yoga class. In other words, what will help you restore your energy and balance? While maintaining a positive mindset and practicing self-care during the pandemic can be difficult because of the restrictions this illness has put on our world, it’s important to take good care of yourself so you are mentally and physically stable when these times subside.
It’s also equally important to radiate your positivity and influence onto others for the benefit of the vast majority. This is not a time to flutter and give up, but a time we all need to persevere and overcome. We can only do this together. So please, be present and be aware that everything around you, including your thoughts, have a massive effect on how you’re feeling and the way you project your energy and ideas. Be the best you that you can be, not only for yourself but for everyone else in this world!
