Last semester, when it was time to register for classes for the spring semester, I registered for 21 credit hours. At the time, I thought it was a great idea because everything is online, so that means more time for homework; I was completely wrong. By the time winter break came around and I was taking winter intersession classes, I knew overextending myself was not the move. This semester has been anything but calm and peaceful. Almost every Monday, I feel like Lemon from 30 Rock and Jack (aka my friends) have to tell me that it is in fact only Monday and only the beginning of the week.

I am lucky enough to have two in-person classes and work on campus in-person. If I did not have those going for me, who knows where I would be. I am now down to 18 credit hours and it is not as bad as 21 credit hours (I think). I wished that I had the strength to do 21 credit hours, but by the time classes actually started in January, I was drained from the winter intersession classes.
Learning on Zoom will never be as effective as learning in person, but I do enjoy online classes. Online classes provide me with more time in the day to do homework and there isn’t the stress of trying to find a seat in a big lecture hall. I have learned to become more organized and prioritize my time better because in addition to 18 credit hours, I seem to be doing 20 other club related activities. What is relaxing and a sense of peace? I don’t know her.
I am very grateful for the two in-person classes I do have because it gives me a chance to get out of my room and see campus. I am taking a camera production class this semester and it is one of my favorite classes. I am so glad that we are still able to work on our camera skills using the campus’s resources and labs.
I am very ready for this semester to be done, but I am also ready for the pandemic to be done (hopefully fall 2021?) so that we can get back to a normal campus life. I am ready to be back to having in-person classes and actually meeting people face-to-face.

You will get it all done. Believe it or not this will be some of the most energetic time of your life. One day you will look back and think how great it was to be able to get it accomplished.
