GEMS is Girls in Engineering, Math, & Science. They had an event at Tri North Middle School on a Saturday. Students rotated through 3 of the many sessions.
Our session was about using coffee stirrers and pipe cleaner pieces to build a geodesic dome for a Moonbase (tape & hot glue to hold pieces together). We also had a variety of other materials to bling it out or make additional items for the Moonbase, though there was not a great amount of time to add more (those pentagons take a little while to build).
