The 114th Indiana Memorial Union Board had a fun-filled fall 2023 semester—with dance parties, escape rooms, performances, lectures, and more, there were plenty of opportunities for students to make lifelong memories on campus. Swift Night: Welcome Week Dance Party at Dunn Meadow
The semester kicked off with a bang at Swift Night, our Welcome Week Dance Party at Dunn Meadow featuring music from pop sensation Taylor Swift. Students gathered for an unforgettable night of music, dancing, and creating memories to start off their year.
Binging with Babish LIVE!
Cooking enthusiasts and movie buffs alike gathered for a live culinary spectacle with Binging with Babish. The popular cooking YouTuber prepared a Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse themed dish live on stage, followed by an exclusive screening of the movie.
Mobile Escape Room: Wizarding College in Trouble
The Club Hub was transformed into a magical college as students gathered to experience this Mobile Escape Room event.
Motion Meadow Film Festival
Union Board’s Films and Entertainment presented “Meadow Motion: Unveiling Student Creativity in Dunn Meadow,” a student film festival showcasing the incredible talent of our university’s filmmakers.
Storytelling Uncovered ft. Sharon Tubbs
Sharon Tubbs, Union Board alum and author of “They Got Daddy!” visited the IU Bookstore in the IMU for the Canvas Creative Arts Committee’s new author showcase series. The event featured a reading, book signing, and refreshments, offering attendees a chance to connect with the author and delve into the powerful memoir.
Indigenous Peoples Day
It was a day of celebration and education at the IMU for Indigenous Peoples Day. Events around the IMU included film showings, presentations, live painting, and traditional activities, providing a platform to honor the rich cultures of Indigenous peoples.
Live from Bloomington 2023 ft. The Greeting Committee
Live from Bloomington 2023 returned with a bang, featuring the annual showcase of musical talent from Bloomington, partnering with The Greeting Committee in a performance at The Bluebird!
Mervis Lecture 2023 ft. Andrew Yang and Taryn Southern
In an eye-opening conversation, Andrew Yang and Taryn Southern delved deep into the world of Artificial Intelligence in the IU Auditorium. The event provided valuable insights into the future of technology and its impact on jobs, society, and art.
Storytelling Uncovered ft. Sarah Thankam Mathews
The second installment of the Canvas Creative Arts Committee’s author series featured Sarah Thankam Mathews, author of “All This Could Be Different.” Attendees gathered at the IMU Bookstore to hear a reading from the 2022 National Book Award Finalist, engage with the author, and enjoy light refreshments.
Bob Ross Paint Along
As the semester draws to a close, Union Board invited students to de-stress at the annual Bob Ross Paint Along at IMU Starbucks. There are no mistakes—only happy accidents!
(Almost) Midnight Breakfast
As finals week arrives on campus, the (Almost) Midnight Breakfast offers free IHOP meals to fuel students’ studying, served by IU staff and faculty.
