Kierstyn Napier-Dovorany, OD, FAAO is a graduate of The New England College of Optometry. She completed a residency at the White River Junction, VT VAMC. She is currently a PhD student at the Indiana University School of Optometry Department of Vision Science where she is studying the interactions between vision and gait, with a focus on the impacts of vision impairment on gait.
Dr. Napier was previously an Associate Professor at the Western University College of Optometry where she taught Clinical Medicine for the Optometrist, Vision Rehabilitation, Geriatrics, and Interprofessional Education, and was awarded the Harriet K. and Philip Pumerantz Award for Leadership and Service. Dr. Napier is a Past President of the Inland Empire Optometric Society and a Past Chancellor of Beta Sigma Kappa.
Dr. Napier is a board certified optometrist with the American Board of Certification in Medical Optometry. In her practice, she mostly works with patients in vision rehabilitation, elderly patients and those with medical eye problems. Dr. Napier performs research in balance and gait in people with visual impairment, as well as interprofessional education and practice.
