Ryan Piurek

A veteran member of IU’s news and strategic communications team, Piurek currently serves as IU assistant vice president for presidential communications and special projects. He oversees the development of a broad range of executive communications and public relations activities to advance the strategic priorities of IU and the IU Office of the President.

He also manages all communications for the IU president’s major international trips, spotlighting their impact on strengthening IU’s mission of increased international engagement.

Piurek is a Connecticut native who has been living in Bloomington, Indiana, for more than two decades, with past experience in newspaper reporting, public relations, marketing, advertising and copywriting. He received a master’s degree from IU’s Media School.
