Beginning Feb. 24, 2019, Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie will lead a university delegation on a trip to Thailand. During the approximately weeklong trip, McRobbie and his IU colleagues will renew IU’s expansive ties with some of the country’s eminent leaders in education, business, culture and government while also reconnecting with IU’s active alumni in the region.

While in Bangkok, the delegation will celebrate the opening of IU’s fifth office in its Global Gateway Network, the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Gateway. McRobbie and his colleagues will also reaffirm long-standing partnerships with leading educational institutions, including Chulalongkorn University and the National Institute of Development Administration. Members of the delegation will also participate in forums to explore areas of mutual interest relating to ASEAN business, education, government and culture, and will meet with national leaders and dignitaries to expand IU’s relationships and global resources in this beautiful and dynamic nation in Southeast Asia.
