Government & Community Meeting Reflection
For this assignment, you will virtually attend a government or community meeting of your choosing. See the Resource section to find dates and times for upcoming meetings. You should include an overview of the meeting as well as your personal thoughts and reflection on your experience in your blog post. You should include images in your post and pay attention to the readability and the aesthetics of the blog post. The blog post should be approximately 1000–1500 words. In your blog post be sure to do the following:
1) Describe:
- a) The point of the meeting.
- b) Who was at the meeting (including demographic descriptions, attendance size).
- c) Where the meeting took place – whether it only virtual or both in person as well as what online platform and tools were used for the online meeting.
- d) What i) topics where discussed, ii) information was given to the community, and how it was distributed (paper handouts, websites, contact information, apps, etc), iii) conflicts/conflicting opinions were addressed/expressed.
- e) How did the meeting resolve?
2) Describe smart city technology opportunities that can be utilized to address problems, conflicts/concerns, and participatory process you discovered during the meeting. You can discuss a current smart city project currently utilized in other cities.
3) Include meeting minutes, brochure or handout from the meeting.
4) Take a screenshot of yourself at the virtual meeting.
