The Student Employee Senior Award aims to recognize an outstanding senior student employee on the IU Bloomington campus who has demonstrated exceptional leadership while employed by the university.
For 2025, we are proud to recognize Becca Samuel as the Student Employee Senior Award recipient for her impactful leadership and involvement during her employment at IU.
Becca Samuel
Becca Samuel is a student at the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, majoring in Nonprofit Management and Leadership. She has held multiple roles on campus, including as a Peer Educator at the O’Neill Career Hub, a Center Desk Assistant at Teter, and a teaching assistant for three O’Neill courses in IT, leadership, and finance.
Becca conducted research on policing, which she presented at the inaugural Technology, Race, and Prejudice Lab at Harvard Business School. This research also informed a proposal to the Office of Scholarships, contributing to the development of the recently announced First Nations Scholarship. During her junior year, she completed a thesis examining the relationship between non-profit boards and fundraising. Becca has also played a significant role in student leadership within the Hutton Honors College, demonstrating her commitment to academic engagement, equity, and community service.
