I’ve only been in Paros, Greece for about 3 days, but, man, does it feel like weeks or maybe months. The long days have been filled with all kinds of adventures and excitement whether that come from the amazing new friends I’ve made, the beautiful landscapes, or the strong sense of culture that surrounds you. Honestly, this island is so gorgeous; it just can’t be real.
The maze like layout of the city just sweeps you away leading you to more and more interesting places. Many shops and restaurants are easily reachable by foot, and much of what is sold is made locally. History just exudes from this place, and it’s nearly impossible to take a bad picture while you’re here. Everything here is almost like it’s programmed to make you never want to leave.
At the time of writing this, we just had our first class today at THE INSTITUTE which is where our different groups will be spending a good portion of time working on our project. There are 4 different groups, and the group I’m a part of, Team Dionysus, will be responsible for using a Matterport camera to scan and create a 3D layout of THE INSTITUTE as well as recreate about 1,300 photos of Paros from long ago.
A major highlight of my trip so far has got to be all the different cats you can see on the island; there are so many friendly strays just running around everywhere. Paros is pretty much that place your parents were talking about when they told you that your cat ran away to a better place.
Can’t wait to learn more about what’s going on here,
Until Next Time!
