Fun Around the World
As we took a weekend away from our studies and school projects, I sought to explore how people enjoy their time off on the other side of the world. So on a quiet Friday night, we embarked on a mission to find a place to play pool and relax.
After a few rounds of playing against someone far above my skillset in hand-eye coordination, I struck out to find something I could enjoy. What started out as a search to find fun ended up with fun finding me.

As luck would have it, a friend I have made locally saw me wondering the streets, pulled me aside, and we had a small heart-to-heart while we waited for her friend to close up shop. After that, we went to a bar to find a drink, but what I found was love. A love, that is, for dancing. A local saloon played familiar music, and I found myself in that old friendly atmosphere of D.J.’s and dance floors. We lost ourselves in the rhythm and found fulfillment in the simple grooving to the beat.
For a few brief hours I was in a place where I wasn’t judged, and together our kindred spirits were uninhibited from the anxieties of daily life. So often people hold onto the thought of impressing someone when they step outside their door, but out here, I found that people just want to let go.
