According to our plan for this three-day holiday, we spent our last day in Santorini. After a full day, there were still two famous beaches we wanted to visit, which were different from a normal beach.
The walk from our hotel to the black beach only took three minutes. It’s called the black beach, because the color of the sand (it’s actually small rocks) is black. Lava rocks forming from a volcanic eruption created fields of this black beach. Actually, the beach has it own name, Agios Georgios beach.
The red beach was not easy to find. The bus system in Santorini is really confusing. When we got to the beach, we noticed that we had only a few minutes to feast our eyes on the beautiful scene, since we had to leave Santorini that afternoon. Surrounded by red cliffs, the beach is made of red and black volcanic pebbles. It has a small harbor, but it really impressed me. We took a risk to explore a new place, but I think it was worth it. Finally, we took a taxi to the port.
After three hours on the ferry, we came back to Paros tired. After a good night sleep, we should be ready to go back to work on Tuesday.
