The Cyclades are beautiful, it’s a simple as that. Five of us have been to Mykonos and Santorini the past two days and
both were more beautiful than I imagined.
Santorini is 
incredible. Today we took a tour of the islands, consisting of hiking a live volcano, swimming in natural volcanic hot springs, riding a donkey up a cliff, and watching the sunset over the slanted city of Oia. I have never seen anything like Santorini in my life and I’m glad I have now.
The Cyclades are nothing like you’ll find in America, other than maybe Hawai’i. From cities on top of cliffs to cliffs on top of cities, to cities on top of cities to cliffs on top of cliffs, all on an island. The islands of the Aegean Sea are truly unique and breathtaking.
It’s great to get out and see the rest of the world. Prior to this trip I have no memory of being out of the United States, so one of my favorite parts is being with people from all around the world and 
seeing how similar we really all are. I love talking to the local shop workers about their lives and asking them about America. Hearing others’ perspectives on where I live is really cool and an experience in itself.
