So, the blog has made the rounds through everybody else in the class and back to me. And, seeing as how today has been rather uneventful, I’ll delve into my impressions of Paros since my arrival last week.
I’d say that my favorite thing about the island is just moving around. The weather is amazing and it’s always a treat to walk anywhere. Even if you get lost, you’re still surrounded by the beauty of the town. (Which given Daniel’s sense of direction…)
Yesterday I had an interesting adventure. Taking advantage of the beautiful weather to wander down to a beach a mile or two down the road with Jacob, where we swam, and threw rocks at other rocks in hopes of getting a few nice chunks of Parian Marble.
Another bit of exploration I got to experience was a visit to the ruined temple of Apollo on Despotiko, which I am working to build in 3D for my project during my time here.
And going forwards, I plan to spend this weekend coming up exploring the island further, perhaps by renting a bike and circumnavigating the island.
