Who wakes up early with an agenda for the day, stays up late and works until it’s done? We do, IUPUI study abroad students.
Starting schoolwork early on a sunny day may not be exciting for the regular student. But, we are not regular students in a regular classroom, we are on the beautiful island of Paros in Greece. Since day one we have been on fire to learn.
Today was important. The cemetery team filmed the rest the footage for their documentary early this morning.
Learning about the Greek culture and how they show the importance of their cemetery is amazing in itself! Since the 8th century evidence shows the findings of the burial of warriors that fought for the island, and the special ways people were cremated.
We can see progress each day as our project moves along according to plan.
Before this trip began we were simply classmates, regular students, in regular classrooms. Now that we are here in Greece and have lived with each other since May 17th, we have learned to work together. We have become a good team and a great film crew. Most importantly we have become friends. Relationships are very important to me and these guys are great. Though we are in this beautiful place with amazing people it is easy to forget the real reason we came here, there is still business to attend to.
While individually we will leave here with our own special slice of Greece, we will have a yearning to fill our stomachs with its delectable foods, sights, sounds and tastes for the rest of our lives.
