During this week, I picked up my project again with more intensity. This week was also a sprint planning week, so Wednesday was very busy. Spring planning usually takes most of the day and the team is very active in engaging with each other. Doing sprint planning via Google Meets actually went very well! Everyone was able to discuss things as normal, even though there had to be more “turn-taking” and less round table discussion. However, the team came up with a very solid plan for attacking the upcoming two week’s projects. During sprint review, where the team overviews the previous two week’s work, we analyzed how the stay-at-home orders had affected work; most projects were finished and it seemed as if everyone was doing extra work to stay ahead!
I continued my research with PowerBI Premium, PowerBI Pro, and Targit. I had a request from one of the managers in the marketing department to have a meeting regarding her usage of PowerBI and Targit. We discussed her preference for each tool, the ways in which she used each tool, the current limitations, and her future needs. She was extremely helpful and helped me to understand the link between data analytics and marketing in company growth. I also had a shorter meeting with another manager from a department that oversees member accounts. He did not use PowerBI and only used Targit to a limited amount. This showed that not every department absolutely needed to have an upgrade in software, but the departments that did need one would greatly benefit from it. I shared my findings with my project supervisor and we thought of next steps to take with the process.
