New Faculty Orientation
Each fall, the Center for Innovative Teaching & Learning (CITL) hosts a day-long event for new faculty members of all ranks—tenure- and teaching-track—to introduce them to key resources and information about teaching at Indiana University Bloomington. The day is structured to help them build community with their new colleagues, learn about IUB contexts and students, connect their work to IUB priorities, and generally warm up for teaching in the fall semester. This year, the CITL hosted a record 98 new faculty members for this event.

Associate Instructor Orientation
Associate Instructors (AIs) play important roles in the education of IUB’s undergraduate students, and the Center for Innovative Teaching & Learning (CITL) helps prepare them for that work through its annual AI Orientation. This year’s event was transitioned to a hybrid format, with nearly 300 new AIs engaging in a combination of live workshops, webinars, and asynchronous modules—all designed to introduce them to evidence-based instructional approaches and resources to support their instructional work.
