This summer, 39 undergraduate students participated in the IUUR STEM Summer Research Program, a unique on-campus, residential experience designed for those with limited or no prior research background. Working individually or in cohorts, students contributed to 17 faculty-mentored projects spanning various STEM disciplines. A new peer mentoring component was piloted with great success, enhancing the program’s supportive environment. Participants highlighted the transformative impact of mentorship, from faculty, graduate students, and peers, on their academic and professional growth.
Thanks to generous donor support, the program remains committed to broadening participation in STEM and welcomes students from all backgrounds to apply. Applications for next summer’s program will open in January 2026.
