IU Libraries is hosting a Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge with rewards. Now through May 10, choose 21 items from its collections to deepen your personal awareness and understanding on these topics. All of the items featured in the challenge are from underrepresented groups, and you will interact with novels, short stories, poems, plays, nonfiction, autobiographies, film, music and podcasts. Choose one item from the lists of works for each category. Mark your progress with the official tracking log. Once you reach 11 items, submit it to the Libraries for your choice of an IU Libraries water bottle, 3D-printed IU Trident doorstop, or IU coloring book (one of these can be mailed for those not in Bloomington). When you record all 21 items, submit your tracking form to receive a one-of-a-kind handmade journal made using “cut-offs” from repair and conservation projects at the E. Lingle Craig Preservation Lab. An inside bookplate will mark your status as challenge finisher. Keep up with the challenge through online discussions (Mar. 17, 3-4pm The Here & Now or April 14, 3-4pm Imagining Forward), and by sharing your thoughts on social media with #iulibrarieschallenge.
