Copenhagen is famous for the Forbidden Giants statues that are found in the parks around the West end of the city. In a very Danish style, I rented a bike for the day and biked around the city. The giants themselves are between 3 and 6 meters tall and are absolutely amazing to behold as they are made completely out of wood but look like they belong in the landscape. Discovering these giants is an adventure all by itself and is similar to adjusting to life in Copenhagen. Some challenges are deceptively large like navigating the metro while others can sneak up on you like using a keyboard on a local computer. I never would have thought that the letters would be arranged differently! And just like finding these giants, I was able to get through the challenges to discover a beautiful city with an alternative charm not unlike Bloomington. If a fellow Hoosier ever finds themselves in Copenhagen, I would highly recommend spending the day like a Dane, biking around the city and exploring the parks found throughout the city.
