If there was one thing our group did on a daily basis it was either sing or dance.
On the bus.
Quietly on our own during shopping.
Attending dance workshops.
I also feel pretty confident in saying that we got pretty gosh darn good at it too. The singing and dancing especially during the last night really brought us together as a family and knowing that this experience which we have shared together had changed us all for better or worse we were all now friends (who were ready to get a little bit of separation from each other after two weeks, haha). Personally, I don’t really enjoy dancing because I have the absolute worst rhythm but in conjunction with others they made sure I didn’t feel that bad about it and I even enjoyed the mistakes every now and then. I am extremely grateful for some of the songs we learned because they all had a meaning some deeper than others but none the less I learned from each of them. Ghanaians value their culture so much and through the songs and dances we learned that was truly expressed to us.
