After spending the afternoon at TK beads bead making workshop, I was inspired in many ways. This bead making workshop was solely based on the creativity of handmade beads. At this workshop, the employees designed their own beads out of collected class bottles, such as old wine bottles, beer bottles or any other type of thrown away glass. Next, they crushed the glass by hand using a wooden pole. After the glass was then crushed and drained of any remaining large pieces, dye was then added into it to add color to the class beads. It was then poured into hand-made models to shape them into beads. After this procedure was done, they threw it in the clay oven for roughly 45 minutes and then designed them when they were done using paint. After hearing about this procedure and how they hand-crafted their own beads, it inspired me and motivated me in more ways than not. I loved the dedication I saw at this workshop and how hardworking the employees were to make their own beads for a living. The hard work they went through such as collecting thrown away glass, crushing the glass and then sitting by the boiling hot oven for hours on end in the unbearable heat is so powerful to me. This really opened up my eyes and motivated me to want to work just as hard as they do.
