Spending 10 days on Grand Cayman island was like a dream come true. Waking up every day only 10 yards from the beach was paradise. During the day, we went on daily scuba diving trips and got to explore the very diverse tropical biology that surrounds the island on the many coral reefs. There were so many interesting and radiant species of fish and coral to see underwater. This trip only strengthened my passion for SCUBA and for biology. When we weren’t underwater, we were going on hikes to local nature reserves to explore the terrestrial side of tropical biology. While these hikes were interesting, nothing could beat the things we were able to see underwater, especially since not many people get to experience what we experienced! I was very thankful to be able to go on this trip and to receive the OVPDEMA Study Abroad Scholarship and will cherish the memories and friends I made for the rest of my life!
