Congratulations to arts management student Hanh Bui, recently awarded a prestigious 2024-25 Leaders of Color Fellowship through Arts Midwest.
The fellowship recognizes outstanding leaders shaping the future of the arts who have “demonstrated a profound ability to inspire change and contribute to their respective fields with creativity and resilience,” announced Arts Midwest. Over the next six months, Bui will have opportunities to connect and collaborate with other fellows, exchange ideas, and sharpen her leadership skills.
“I’m looking forward to connecting with other Midwestern arts administrators who are doing important and inspirational work in their fields and seeing how the fellowship will guide how I approach my community engagement work going forward,” said Bui. “The process of being in community with people who believe in the strengths of the arts, and learning from one another, is what makes this line of work possible and exciting.”
Bui is committed to furthering work in arts and racial equity, creating spaces for creative expression and social change. Through her work with the IU Arts & Humanities Council, Bui has curated and coordinated community art galleries on topics including the Asian American diaspora, femme rage, and what it means to yearn. She also serves as the racial equity intern for Hoosier Asian American Power, an organization that ignites Indiana’s Asian Americans to build grassroots power for visionary change.
