“The Global Rise of the Modern Plug-In Electric Vehicle: Public Policy, Innovation, and Strategy,” from Professor John Graham from the Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, has been named an Outstanding Academic Title by Choice, the review journal of the Association of College and Research Libraries.
Choice’s prestigious list reflects the best in scholarly titles, both print and digital, reviewed by the publication during the previous year. Titles are selected based on criteria such as overall excellence in presentation and scholarship, importance relative to other literature in the field, originality or uniqueness of treatment, value to undergraduate students, and more. Graham’s book provides an in-depth understanding of how people on every continent in the world are contributing to the new electric-vehicle industry, including the raw materials, battery components, electric motors and charging stations.
“I’m thrilled this selection by Choice will increase accessibility to students through the global network of libraries,” Graham said. “It’s my hope that anyone who reads it will gain an appreciation of the huge change in the transportation sector they will soon experience.”
Graham is a former dean of the O’Neill School who also served as an administrator for the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs for the U.S. Office of Budget and Management during the George W. Bush Administration. His research focuses on environmental and energy policy, policy analysis, the future of the automobile, and government reform.
