Abigail Rorer (b. 1949) was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania and studied printmaking at the Rhode Island School of Design. Following her graduation, Rorer worked as an illustrator for a number of commercial presses and publishing houses, illustrating works for many authors including Henry David Thoreau.
