Two members of the ResearchSOC team have assumed new roles.
Inna Kouper is now Director of Researcher Engagement. Inna is the interim director of the Indiana University Data to Insight Center and assistant research scientist at the IU School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering. Inna’s research focuses on knowledge production and dissemination, with a particular emphasis on emerging technologies and data practices. She is involved in the projects that study communities of data producers and consumers, promote data stewardship and sharing, and develop innovative methods of data collection, preservation, and analysis. Inna has undergraduate and master’s degrees in information systems, a PhD in sociology, and a PhD in information science.
Susan Sons is now Deputy Director of the ResearchSOC. Susan serves as a Chief Security Analyst at Indiana University’s Center for Applied Cybersecurity Research, and as President of the Internet Civil Engineering Institute, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting and securing the common software infrastructure we all depend on. She comes from a background in abuse management, systems software engineering, web development, and pentesting.
The Research Security Operations Center (ResearchSOC) is a collaborative security response center that addresses the unique cybersecurity concerns of the research community. ResearchSOC helps make scientific computing resilient to cyberattacks and capable of supporting trustworthy, productive research.
