Campus Technology, one of higher education’s top online information sources, has announced that the IU-led OmniSOC has been selected as the 2019 Campus Technology Impact Award winner in the IT Infrastructure and Systems category. OmniSOC is a shared, 24x7x365 cybersecurity operations center for higher education. OmniSOC is a pioneering initiative that helps reduce the time from first awareness of a cybersecurity threat anywhere to mitigation everywhere for its members.
OmniSOC currently partners with five other Big 10 universities: Indiana University, Northwestern University, Purdue University, Rutgers University, and the University of Nebraska—Lincoln. The center is working to expand its membership and is adding similarly sized partners both inside and outside the Big 10.
Campus Technology’s Impact Awards honor “exemplary colleges and universities that are making an extraordinary impact with technology on campus, doing important work in the service of teaching, learning, administration and operations,” according to their website. The IT Infrastructure and Systems category is one of the five categories for the Impact Award.
