IU Health Department:
SIP Behavioral Health Unit (SBU-Stress Busters Unit)
The SIP Behavioral Health Unit (SBU) at IU Health SIP Riley Physicians, is a collaborative and integrative site that provides behavioral health care to children and families in Monroe and the surrounding counties. Our 5 pediatric primary care offices serve roughly 80 percent of children in the Southern Central Region of Indiana. Referrals to SBU come directly from these offices and we work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to determine best fit for care. We provide medication management as well as behavioral health therapy. Our practitioners utilize a range of treatment theories and methodologies. We were awarded a 2.5-year Department of Mental Health and Addictions grant from the state of Indiana to develop an intensive outpatient program for adolescents and a multi-family trauma informed group (including one specific for LBGTQIA+ families).
Direct Responsibilities:
- Shadow professionals in the field in a multidisciplinary work environment
- Work within IU Health (hospital, community health and outpatient pediatric settings) to assist in implementation of large DMHA grant
- Marketing of SBU services
- Support SBU staff as needed
- Familiarize oneself with HIPAA
- Follow ethical guidelines for practice and confidentiality
Outreach to community and within Riley Physicians Practices:
- Research community and SIP Riley needs
- Inter/Intra office needs assessment
- Analysis of best practice treatment models and willingness to provide feedback if necessary
- Round to private practitioners for updates, information, and referral process
Collaboration on micro, mezzo, and macro levels:
- Collaboration and coordination of services with community mental health providers
- Work with Director and team members to assess community and practice needs
- Organization of interoffice documents; assist with workflow model
- Assist in assessing patient satisfaction
Qualifications:
- Actively in MSHM program
- Ability to work in highly collaborative environment, busy office environment.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills; Diversity/Inclusion, Poverty/Oppression/Privilege
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively and collaboratively with patients and team members at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience with Windows including Excel, Outlook.
