Job/Project Overview
One of the missions of the IU Health – TA Campus, Community Relations & Talent Pipelines team is to build, broaden and visualize the pipeline of accessible talent to our organization. This is an imperative with Executive Team visibility, and in order to accomplish this goal, we need the right processes and tools (both tech-stack and human capital resources).
This Practicum Project Manager will be charged with executing the development of an IU Health system-wide “campus recruiting team” strategy. This will include org design work to build team roles and infrastructure. With one big “IU Health Day” already being scheduled for Fall’22, they will help to plan and execute the event, and conduct an after-action-review to build a duplicatable process to execute at our other core target schools in subsequent semesters. They will work with the other Practicum Project Manager to develop a strategic talent pipeline dashboard and implement a process to update and share the health of our talent pipeline to internal stakeholders up to and including reporting to the IU Health Board.
Qualifications
• Basic data, data analysis, data visualization, dashboard building skills (Power BI knowledge a plus)
• Interest in building & leading teams, and designing an org with outcome goals in mind
• Experience or interest in executing events (in-person/virtual), and creating follow-up opportunities that enhance attendee experience
• Ability to communicate with all levels of IU Health leadership
• Detail oriented with a positive and collaborative attitude
• Work in (and sometimes lead) a cross-functional team with varying levels of expertise, and build consensus to make recommendations among differing opinions
• Comfort working in MS Office suite of products (including Teams for meeting and collaboration purposes)
Preceptor
Bret Pogemiller, Campus, Community Relations & Talent Pipelines Leader at IU Health, was hired in 2021 to build a strategic capability in the Talent Acquisition space that combines the right Team Members, Technology, and Process to compete for top Clinical, Professional & NonClinical talent for both today and the future. Bret has worked for over twenty years in the healthcare space in a variety of sales and human resources (TA/TM) roles, leading large teams with and sometimes without direct authority. He has a passion for early career talent, and enjoys creating programs that match student/candidate interest with business need. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri, and after a decade in Chicago, he now lives in the Indy area with his wife (a Hoosier native) and their two teenage children.
