“I received the Emerging Scholars Award from MPI in 2023. The award enabled me to attend the European Research Network on Philanthropy (ERNOP) conference in Zagreb, Croatia. We were able to organize several panels and meetings with MPI colleagues at ENROP to publicize the research carried out by its members. It was an incredible opportunity for me to meet scholars with research themes close to my own, and to learn more about their research. I had the pleasure of meeting some of MPI’s team including, Dr. Shariq Siddiqui, Dr. Micah Hugues and Afshan Paarlberg whom I had met earlier in 2021 during an exchange at Indiana University Indianapolis. The meeting resulted in fruitful and insightful discussions centered on perpetuating academic networks between Europe and the United States.
My paper on Muslim NGOS in France which was also the topic of my PhD thesis, was published in the December 2024 issue of the Journal of Muslim Philanthropy and Civil Society, an MPI publication.”
