The week sped by and now only consists of Tuesdays for a few hours (+ time for emails as they enter my inbox). I was able to progress further on the Cooperative Children’s Book Center list. I also had great conversations about library services for children with co-workers.
I started on a new project for National Poetry Month. In the past, the Children’s department has printed poems for patrons to take home with them. I offered to help with this project and therefore, I selected 10 poems for varying ages and added a bit of design work to the poems via Canva. My design examples have gone to the Marketing department for their expert touches. The exciting part of selecting poems was finding an online resource called Children’s Poetry Archive. On this website, you can find a variety of poems but they also offer read-aloud’s of each poem. I think this is a perfect way to experience poetry, especially for children and within families! I added a link to the read-aloud on each poem handout.
Looking forward to next week where I’ll do more prep on my upcoming Tiny to Two storytime, write another book review, shadow at he desk and tie up some loose ends from past projects.
