Very quick week! I only worked a few hours because I was preparing for and had a round of interviews at MCPL =) It has been extraordinary timing to have a Children’s Librarian position open up at MCPL during my internship. I was lucky to interview and no matter the outcome the interviewing experience was great!
After my Tuesday round of interviewing, which took place at the Ellettsville branch, I stayed up at the branch for another hour to see what branch life is like. And it was quiet and peaceful. They have an incredible space – teen space, meeting rooms, children’s room, reading nooks, community gardens. I enjoyed browsing the collection and speaking with the staff about how the branch differs from main.
I also worked remotely a tiny bit this week on a project for the collection development librarian. I’m cross-listing the MCPL catalog against the Cooperative Children’s Book Center 2021 Choices list. It’s aligning really well with my Trends in Youth Literature seminar course and giving me loads to add to my list!
