Abstract: Identifying how AI-Healthcare regulation can manage risks and improve health data quality is crucial. This is particularly important for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations. However, the global demand for AI health data underscores the challenges posed by inconsistent data collection systems, highlighting the need for uniform standards. To understand these global standards’ potential benefits, this presentation analyzes two distinct approaches: the U.S., which treats AI healthcare as a medical device, and the EU, focusing on systemic challenges.” In the U.S., AI healthcare is regarded as a medical device that uses data to enhance research and healthcare treatment. Conversely, the EU has focused on addressing significant systemic and risk-threshold definition challenges. After highlighting the critical need for AI healthcare regulation, this presentation narrows down to a comparative analysis of data collection and quality control regulatory strategies in the U.S. and EU.
