We held our first networking event for applicants on February 11, 2015 for the 2015-16 application cycle. This now annual event is called Chance to Advance and it starts with a brief presentation on networking etiquette and then practice time with LHSI program staff, interns, alumni, and campus career and advising professionals.
This is a great opportunity for us to meet some of the applicants and connect them with their peers and other professionals on campus.
Applicants talk to campus career professionals and current interns at the 2015 Chance to Advance event.

This year, the Chance to Advance event was the biggest it has ever been! Upwards of 50 potential applicants RSVPed to attend the event, so they received printed business cards with their majors and emails on them to hand out to others. After Willow King-Locke from PREPs prepared the students with networking basics (pun intended) they got the chance to practice with current interns, alumni, and other professionals from other departments. It was a great success.
