We’re nearing the home stretch now. Only 5 more days at MCPL and another week and a half beyond that before the last obligation of the semester is due. It’s been a haul this semester, though not as bad as the previous two. I do find myself continually asking myself if it’s worth it to be here and committing so much time and energy and focus to something that doesn’t fulfill me, mostly in reference to the history side of my degree, but there was something that one of my coworkers here at the library asked me that has really stuck with me since: do you have a duty to put your future self in the best possible circumstances? And by extension, what do those circumstances look like? As of right now, those circumstances still look like having a masters degree in a few months, but man, it still feels eons away.
