This post will probably end up being a little less substantive than usual because the main thing I want to highlight was that I was able to finish scanning the Ricketts 132 manuscript this week! The little volume was such a fun change of pace from what I usually work with and ended up having quite a few miniatures of saints! Each miniature was fully illuminated and most has some gold leaf included in the image. My favorite images from the manuscript were of a peacock, a snail, and a kind holding a book and a sword!

Images like the ones above continuously impress me with their level of detail and the ability of the color to remain this far past the completion of the text (remember, this manuscript is from 1490)! The pages were extremely delicate toward the end of the book, so I had to reshoot those images a number of times to adjust the little metal clasps so the pages were as straight as possible without damaging the page or the cover of the book. the next step in moving this work to the IU Digital Collections Online site will be to review each image with Jody to make sure there are no touch-ups that are needed (in Photoshop or Lightroom). The other items I worked on this week were (as usual) the Welles photography collection and the Vonnegut collection.
