Representing Indiana University, the team of Trace Held, Will Higgins, Franco Matticoli, Mike Ruddell, and Bryce Wetzel was awarded first place in the ICSC Foundation’s Case Competition. This year’s case, created by Brad Hutensky, former ICSC Chairman and founder of Hutensky Capital Partners, focused on the revitalization of a floundering mall.
Four teams were asked to make investments in the mall that would allow for a change from apparel to some mix of entertainment, office, service and/or convenience retail. IU’s team proposed a mall conversion focused on retail, health, and office uses emphasizing sustainability to attract tenants and investors. See the video of IU’s presentation here.
Thank you to the ICSC Foundation for providing this excellent case competition to our students.
