Rachelle McCabe, professor emerita at Oregon State University, enjoys an international career having performed as soloist, duo pianist, and chamber musician throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, as well as in China and Southeast Asia. As concerto soloist, Rachelle McCabe has appeared with the Seattle Symphony, as well as the Pittsburgh, Oregon, and Victoria symphonies. Believing in the power of collaborative arts to help bring about change, Rachelle has created acclaimed concerts and videos with authors and scientists to address the global crisis of climate change and extinction. She is the artistic director of Corvallis-OSU Piano International with its prestigious Steinway Piano Series, workshops, and outreach and educational programs. A highly respected teacher, she frequently appears nationally and internationally, performing in festivals, adjudicating students, and giving master classes. Rachelle McCabe holds a doctorate from The University of Michigan where she studied with Gyorgy Sandor and Theodore Lettvin, a master’s from Juilliard with Ania Dorfmann, and bachelor’s from The University of Washington with Béla Siki. Additional teachers included Leon Fleisher and Gary Graffman.
