American pianist and Steinway International Artist Hans Boepple is Professor of Music at Santa Clara University (SCU) in California. Considered an artist who shows rich musicality alongside stunning technical command, his debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at age 10 set in motion collaborations with orchestras and conductors of international reputation. A guest artist on concert series across the United States, prizes most notably include First Prize in the International J.S. Bach Competition (Washington, D.C.). A two-time recipient of the Joseph Battista Award from Indiana University, he was awarded both the Master Teacher Certificate from the MTNA and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT).
Mr. Boepple holds both a Bachelor and Master of Music in Piano Performance from Indiana University (Bloomington) where he studied with renowned American pianist Sidney Foster. In 1974, the piano faculty was unanimous in awarding him the prestigious Performer’s Certificate. A former full-time member of the IU piano faculty, Boepple joined SCU in 1978. In demand as a clinician, author and master teacher, his piano students have continued music study at Juilliard, UCLA, Yale, New England Conservatory, Indiana, Rice and Eastman.
