Master Classes
Master classes are taught by guest artists as well as resident faculty. Please visit the Faculty page for Master Class Faculty.
Performers for master classes will be selected from live auditions at the beginning of the Academy session on the first Sunday. Participants should prepare a master class audition piece that is memorized and polished to performance level.
Guest Concerts
Every year, Piano Academy features a wealth of inspiring solo and duo/chamber concerts performed by world-class guest artists.
Private Lessons and Supervised Practice
Two individual lessons per week of 50 – 60 minutes each, with Academy core faculty. Please visit the Faculty Page for information on Core Faculty.
Two daily practice periods will be scheduled. Experienced practice coaches will be available to help participants work productively and progress rapidly.
Performance Opportunities
All students will get the chance to perform in a student recital open to the public. Selected students will also perform in our Honors Recital on the last evening.
Ensemble Music
Study of piano duet works, weekly coachings, and a final duet recital/competition.
Performance and Analysis Classes
Classes on music theory and analysis, and application to performance.
Feldenkrais Classes (optional)
The Feldenkrais Method™ teaches one how to relax and function more effectively at the piano and in daily life.
Note: Enrollment in Feldenkrais classes is optional. The total charge is $75 for
5 one-hour classes.
Friendship and Fun
And last but certainly not least, the Piano Academy is committed to fostering an atmosphere where students are encouraged to support each other wholeheartedly, have fun together, and develop deep and lasting friendships with other dedicated young musicians.
