Head on in to the Chocolate Moose store at 405 S Walnut Street to claim your scoops, on us! Note: only current IU students are eligible. Only available at the Walnut Street location.
Games and Activities!
Team up with other students to answer some fun music-related trivia from 12-12:20pm, and stay for our scavenger hunt from 1:45-2pm! Winners will be featured on our social media!

Representatives from campus, community, and student organizations will be in attendance to talk to you in breakout rooms and answer your questions! These organizations are available to connect with you virtually and provide lots of resources–even if you’re not in Bloomington! The following organizations will be in attendance:
Community OrganizationsÂ
The Buskirk-Chumley Theater – The Buskirk-Chumley Theater is a nonprofit organization that serves as Bloomington’s community theater. It has been a downtown fixture since 1922, but today functions primarily as a performing arts venue, rental venue, & arts incubator.
IU Campus Organizations
Asian Cultural Center – Based on the Bloomington campus of Indiana University, the Asian Culture Center (ACC) aims to promote awareness, understanding, and acceptance of Asian American and Pacific Islander cultures, history, and issues as an integral part of the fabric of American life in the United States. One does not have to be of Asian or Pacific Islander heritage to be involved with the ACC. Everyone is welcome.​
IU Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) – An important partnership has been established between the Counseling and Psychological Services and the Jacobs School of Music. We provide a wide range of services for life issues (transitions, career changes, relationship breakups, etc.) as well as services for mental health concerns (depression, anxiety, substance abuse etc.).
IU Recreational Sports – Recreational Sports has two facilities and unlimited options, including 500+ pieces of strength and cardio equipment; 80+ group exercise sessions and much more- there’s something for everyone! We connect, inform, inspire people to lead active, healthy lifestyles. Watch this video for more information and to learn how you can also connect virtually!
IU Student Legal Services – Student Legal Services assists IUB students with a wide variety of legal issues and questions that can arise during their college career.
LGBTQ+ Culture Center – At the LGBTQ+ Culture Center, we work to provide students with a safe and welcoming learning environment, supplying resources, programming, and support to help students successfully reach their educational goals. We also aim to enhance the campus community’s understanding and appreciation of LGBTQ+ people and issues.
La Casa/Latino Culture Center – Established in 1973, La Casa/Latino Cultural Center serves as an important link and advocate between the university and the Latino community, working closely with other campus units, the Bloomington community, and state and national groups. Building on a strong campus community, La Casa/Latino Cultural Center provides programming, support, and opportunities to foster a sense of belonging and pride for Latino students, while assisting in their academic, leadership, professional, and social development.
Office for Students with Disabilities – The Office of Disability Services for Students is dedicated to ensuring that students with disabilities have the tools, support services, and resources that allow equal access and reasonable accommodations to be successful at Indiana University Bloomington. DDS serves students with conditions that significantly affect their ability to participate fully in universtity life. All disibility-related information is kept confidential.
Office of Entrepreneurship and Career Development – You’ve decided on an academic program. You know what area of music you intend to pursue. But have you made a career development plan? If not, now is the time to start. And the Office of Entrepreneurship & Career Development is here to help educate, inspire, and guide you as you prepare for a career in the arts.
Writing Tutorial Services – Writing Tutorial Services (WTS) offers students one-on-one help with any phase of the writing process—from brainstorming to revising the final draft. When you visit WTS, you’ll find a tutor who is a sympathetic and helpful reader of your prose. We can help you develop strong thesis statements, develop effective outlines, find and integrate credible sources, identify patterns of error and fix these problems on your own, understand and avoid plagiarism and write effective answers to essay exam questions.
Jacobs School of Music Student Organizations
Audio Engineering Society at IU – The Audio Engineering Society at IU serves to create a community of students that want to expand upon their knowledge of audio engineering. AES at IU hosts organizes many events with the top educators of the audio engineering field open to any student at IU.
American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) – Indiana University ACDA’s Executive Board strives to provide a means for future music to excel educators through culturally relevant masterclasses and programming, networking opportunities, and making ACDA conferences more accessible.
Bloomington Chapter of the American Guild of Organists at Indiana University (AGO) – The mission of the American Guild of Organists is to enrich lives through organ and choral music. To achieve this, we: Encourage excellence in the performance of organ and choral music; Inspire, educate, and offer certification for organists and choral conductors; Provide networking, fellowship, and mutual support; Nurture future generations of organists; Promote the organ in its historic and evolving roles; and Engage wider audiences with organ and choral music.
American String Teachers Association (ASTA)Â – IU-ASTA is the Indiana University chapter of the American String Teacher’s Association. We welcome all string players including music education majors and performers interested in teaching strings!
Classical Connections – Classical Connections works with students from the Jacobs School of Music to bring the joy of music to diverse areas of the greater Bloomington community through musical performance, educational engagement, and interpersonal development.
Da Capo – Da Capo is a peer mentoring program for incoming students at the Jacobs School of Music.
Double Bass Club – We are a Campus-Wide, Jacobs-Centered organization whose primary focus is to bring as many bass players together as possible. We are currently working on creating new editions of solo music for bass as well as cultivating discussions around auditions, genre, gear and pandemic life as a musician.
Gilbert & Sullivan Society – We are a student-run opera company specializing in light opera, especially the works of Gilbert & Sullivan. Our mission is to provide opportunities for students to gain experience not only in performance, but also in areas of organizational leadership and production.
Graduate Musicology Association – The GMA is the student government association for the musicology department at JSOM.
Jazz Education Network (JEN) – The JEN (Jazz Education Network) chapter at Indiana University is a group of jazz musicians and jazz enthusiasts who have a desire to teach others about the culture and history of Jazz music.
Kappa Kappa Psi – Kappa Kappa Psi is a national co-ed honorary band fraternity that serves and promotes the college bands at Indiana University.
Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) – The MTNA collegiate chapter at IU is a student organization whose mission is to prepare and equip aspiring professional musicians by providing career building resources, educational workshops, and networking opportunities. We also function as an access point for IU students and faculty to connect with each other and with other institutions affiliated with MTNA.
National Association for Music Educators (NAfME) at Indiana University – NAfME at IU, the Indiana University Chapter of the National Association for Music Education, is committed to operations solely in the field of music education. It is an organization through which students may attend sponsored events, find volunteer opportunities in local area schools, attend the state music education convention (Indiana Music Educators Association Convention), assist IU in various projects throughout the year, form life-lasting bonds and friendships with fellow colleagues, and develop the relationship between the University and the community in order to support and advocate for musical learning.
National Band Association (NBA) at Indiana University – The National Band Association is the largest professional organization for bands in the world. NBA was organized for the purpose of promoting the musical and educational significance of bands and is dedicated to the attainment of a high level of excellence for bands and band music. NBA is today’s professional organization for band directors, and it stands ready to serve all members of the association through a variety of projects and initiatives.
New Voices Opera – New Voices Opera is a student run opera organization at Indiana University. Our mission is to foster the creation of operas by the next generation of operatic composers by providing an outlet for emerging artists.
Student National Association of Teachers of Singing – IU Student NATS is an officially recognized organization of Indiana University whose primary focus is the promotion of vocal pedagogy, as well as career building and support for those interested in teaching voice as a career.
Student Representative Committee (SRC) – The Student Representative Committee is made up of undergraduate and graduate students who serve as the students’ voice to faculty committees who make decisions about student life and education. Students can be involved by serving as their department representative on the SRC, serving as a student representative to one of the JSOM faculty committees, or by sharing their ideas and concerns to improve student life and opportunities.
Student Composers Association (SCA) – The Association operates as a peer interface for the composition department, facilitating an annual guest composer program, developing and administrating public performances both on and off campus, and advocating on behalf of the students to improve performance and learning opportunities. SCA hosts a variety of cross-department collaborations every year giving Jacobs students multiple opportunities to perform new works.
Tau Beta Sigma Rho Chapter – Tau Beta Sigma is an honorary band sorority. We provide exceptional service to collegiate bands and promote equality and diversity, including empowering women in the band profession. We cultivate leadership, educational achievement, music appreciation and community development.
