At only 20 years old, Madalyn Parnas has firmly established herself as a musical force to be reckoned with. According to Berkshire Living Magazine, Madalyn is “poised for potential major careers in an increasingly superstar-oriented classical music business.” Both as a soloist and as half of Duo Parnas (with sister Cicely), Madalyn has made strides in the music industry both artistically and as a budding entrepreneur. Many of her successes can be attributed in part to her attention to maintaining a strong business sensibility, conducting all marketing, press, and digital presence matters herself. Her efforts have brought the duo to stages at (le) Poisson Rouge, Lincoln Center, and the Skirball Performing Arts Center. In May 2012, the Duo Parnas will release their third album, In Real Time.
Since her earliest successes, Madalyn has had an eye on entrepreneurship. Having managed a the Duo Parnas website for over ten years, she has has learned firsthand the importance of relaying relevant publicity, and having a way to connect with fans and supporters. The website also provides press assets such as high-resolution photos and an event calendar, as well as a substantial performance news archive. Madalyn was featured as a Project Jumpstart panelist in December third’s event, “Buzzworthy: Powering Your Online Presence,” where she shared thoughts on how parnasmusic.com continues to develop.
Madalyn is currently an Artist Diploma student under the tutelage of Jaime Laredo. Project Jumpstart is also thrilled to congratulate Madalyn on being named a 2012 Marshall Scholar. This highly competitive award funds graduate study and living expenses for American students at British universities. In August 2012, Madalyn will begin studing at the Royal Academy of Music.
