The Office of Entrepreneurship & Career Development (OECD) is delighted to welcome Lisa Miller as the Jacobs School’s new student career advisor! A proud Jacobs alumna, Lisa brings a wealth of experience in performance, academia, teaching, and administration. We are thrilled that she has returned to Bloomington for this opportunity and encourage the entire Jacobs community to stop by the OECD (Merrill Hall, MU011) to meet her.
Lisa joins career advisor Ruthie Williamson, who came on board last year, along with Alain Barker, director of the OECD, and our four student interns for the remainder of the academic year: Katie Nam, Audrey Osburn, Isaac Smith, and Evelyn Theinert.
“There are so many fabulous things happening at Jacobs that make each day new and unique,” Lisa shared. “It’s truly wonderful to be back home!”
Lisa earned her Doctor of Music degree in Voice Performance from the IU Jacobs School of Music in 2016. Her academic journey also includes an Associate of Science in Music from Vincennes University, a Bachelor of Science and Master of Music from Indiana State University, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Oakland City University.
Over the past 25 years, Lisa has held faculty positions at Onondaga Community College and Vincennes University, where she taught voice, voice repertoire, music theory, and music appreciation. She is deeply committed to fostering a high-standard academic environment while providing students with the support they need to grow into confident, professional musicians.
Outside of her professional life, Lisa enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren, Vivian and Ross
Please join us in welcoming Lisa back to Jacobs!
