Even before the Covid era, ensembles have been going through rapid change and, while doing so, are emerging as changed cultural organizations with a stronger commitment to cultural diversity, inclusion, community engagement, and an openness to emerging interdisciplinary practices.

Meredith Snow, Chairperson of ISCOM and Violist in the LA Phil
Meredith Snow received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Juilliard School of Music, where she was a student of Paul Doktor and Samuel Rhodes. A former member of the Colorado String Quartet, Snow performed with that ensemble in the United States, Europe, and Brazil, She has participated in the Tanglewood, Aspen, and Marlboro Music Festivals. She became a member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic in 1986 after three years with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra. Snow lives in Van Nuys, California with her husband and son. She enjoys reading, making stained glass, bicycling, and chamber music, appearing often with the Philharmonic Chamber Music Society and the Philharmonic New Music Group. She has served on the ICSOM Governing Board for the past fifteen years.
Roger Roe, Adjunct Associate Professor of Music at the Jacobs School of Music, Assistant Principal Oboe/English Horn in the Indianapolis Symphony
Active as a performer in chamber, recital, and orchestral settings, Roger Roe has served with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO) for 20 years, following positions with the orchestras of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Charleston, S.C. His many students have gone on from IU to perform in orchestras and other ensembles around the world as well as to careers in many other fields. He champions new music for oboe and English horn, having premiered several new pieces and commissioned new works. He is also interested in theatricality and improvisation in music and other arts as well as the intersection of music and spirituality, enjoying recent collaborations with ministers, rabbis, dancers, actors, singers, poets, and others on various liturgical and scholarly projects.
Donna Parkes, Principal Trombone in the Louisville Orchestra
Australian trombonist Donna Parkes has been Principal Trombone of the Louisville Orchestra since 2008 and has been Principal Trombone of the Colorado Music Festival since 2009. She was a member of the Virginia Symphony from 2001-2007 and was a member of the New World Symphony under Michael Tilson Thomas for two years, and has performed with many orchestras including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, London Symphony, San Diego Symphony, Oregon Symphony, National Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Singapore Symphony, Sydney Symphony, and the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Donna Parkes is one of just five orchestra musicians from across the U.S. who received Ford Musician Awards for Excellence in Community Service from the League of American Orchestras at the League’s 2019 National Conference in Nashville.
Kevin Case, Founder and Principal at Case Arts Law, LLC.
Kevin Case represents musicians and artists nationwide in labor and employment matters, including the drafting and negotiation of collecting bargaining agreements (CBAs) and individual employment contracts on behalf of symphony and opera musicians. He has negotiated CBAs on behalf of the musicians of the Pittsburgh Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, Chicago Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, Atlanta Symphony, Charlotte Symphony, Florida Orchestra, Chicago Lyric Opera, Rochester Philharmonic, and the Grant Park Symphony (among others). Since 2015, he has served as General Counsel to the International Conference of Symphony and Opera Musicians (ICSOM).
