Alumnus Anthony Lanman divides his time between producing his podcast, 1 Track, composing, performing, teaching and advocating for new classical music. Embracing influences that range from progressive rock and metal, to medieval and renaissance music, to jazz, to new classical, he strives to create a sound that is his own. He has written for ensembles and soloists around the world. He has exposed thousands of new listeners to contemporary classical composers by sharing this music to his more than 400,000 followers on Soundcloud. Read more about Anthony Lanman here >
Alumna Amanda Sewell holds a Ph.D. in musicology from Indiana University. She is currently the Music Director at Interlochen Public Radio (MI). Her biography of the American composer and electronic musician Wendy Carlos will be released in August from Oxford University Press. Amanda frequently contributes program notes for performances of classical music, including performances at Interlochen Center for the Arts. Read more about Amanda Sewell here >
Alumnus Cary Boyce is an Emmy Award-winning composer and co-director of the new music ensemble and production company Aquavá New Music Studio. He has appeared at major national and international festivals and his music has been heard around the world in film, radio, and television including NPR and PBS, the BBC, Deutsche Welle, and France 3. His work as a media producer includes nationally syndicated shows and many special music programs such as A Latin American Christmas, An Early Music Christmas, Latin Love Songs with Met soprano Sylvia McNair, and many others. He is the president and general manager of Spokane Public Radio and adjunct professor of composition at the Whitworth University. Read more about Cary Boyce here >
With an extensive knowledge of classical music history, repertoire, theory, and performance, Joe Goetz translates that knowledge to the classical music radio audience. his goal is to create programming that appeals both to classical music devotees and casual listeners. Joe specializes in playlist creation as well as music hosting, and working with external partners to create opportunities for community engagement that go beyond the radio dial.
